A company Director at CJ Associates with over 34 years served in the site investigation industry. Widely experienced in all aspects of testing including an array of public and private sector projects. Public sector coverage includes large-scale infrastructure projects such as HS2, the new motorway corridor around Newport (M4CAN) and the new MOTO services at Rugby.

Drilling Director

Since becoming drilling manager, Matthew is responsible for organising and securing the recruitment and retention of staff. He is also managing projects up to the value of £2 million, including M4 project concerning the corridor around Newport, Wales and the Dawlish Warren PTT rail track project. Matthew works with other RSK companies to increase the group’s organising strategic advancements. As well as working with a diverse range of clients, he is CJ’s first point of call.

RICHARD ANSTEE

Materials and Field Testing Director

Richard has more than 30 years’ experience in setting up and managing site and permanent laboratories and in-situ testing following British Standards and all relevant BSEN standards. He is also adept at using concrete, earthworks, bituminous materials and UKAS systems. In Greece, for four years, he worked extensively on major road projects; in the UK, he worked on the construction of the M4 Briton Ferry Bridge, A470 Pentrebach to Cefn Coed, M4 Brynglas Tunnels, A41 Kings Langley Bypass and Whitland Bypass.

JOINT MANAGING DIRECTOR

Craig is an experienced geologist, project manager and company director with over 25 years experience undertaking site investigations alongside multi-disciplinary project management. Craig has extensive experience in the rail sector working on high profile projects including EGIP, TRUE and HiML. As Joint Manager Director for Central Alliance and CJ Associates has developed his business management skills and knowledge base delivering the full range of pre-construction surveys.

RICHARD PIDCOCK

JOINT MANAGING DIRECTOR

Richard is an experienced Company Director and Engineering Geologist with over 27 years’ experience in engineering geology, geotechnical engineering, site investigation, monitoring, and surveying. Richard has extensive experience in all aspects of business management as founder and Joint Managing Director of sister RSK company Central Alliance and became Joint Managing Director of CJ Associates alongside Craig in 2021. With a strong passion for innovation, Richard has experience in all aspects of ground investigation, instrumentation and monitoring, slope stability, foundation design, geomorphological mapping and earthworks inspections, and remote sensing.
