Established in 1974 in Southwest England, CJA quickly gained a solid industry reputation for a consistent safe-working culture and delivery of first-class services including drilling, engineering, in-situ testing and laboratory testing services under UKAS accreditation.
Since joining RSK in 2017, the company has ventured into new markets and now provides services group-wide under the leadership of Craig White and Richard Pidcock within the Technical Services Division on prestigious projects including HS2, large highways schemes and strategic energy campaigns.

Our teams provide integrated ground investigation services including window sampling, cable percussion and rotary drilling, as well as in-situ and geotechnical laboratory testing, and engineering services. Our offices in Bristol and Bridgend are ideally placed to serve the Southwest and Wales as well as nationally, utilising support from satellite bases of operations in West Yorkshire and other RSK-affiliated companies across the mainland UK. We are proud to be able to work collaboratively with Clients and other stakeholders, offering support and early engagement with a best-for-project approach.
ABOUT CJ ASSOCIATES
Founded in Bristol in 1974, CJ Associates Geotechnical was established as a ground investigation company specialising in drilling, in-situ testing and laboratory services. The company quickly attained a solid industry reputation for provision of high-quality services. UKAS accreditation was gained in 1994 and in the years since the business has grown to over 50 staff working across many industry sectors including construction, defence, energy, infrastructure and property, among others.
The company owns and operates a fleet of drilling rigs and other equipment working from their base of operations in Avonmouth with the laboratory testing and in-situ testing division based at Bridgend. Since joining RSK in 2017, CJ Associates has significantly reinforced the capabilities of the Technical Services Division within the group. Our highly qualified and experienced geotechnical and geo-environmental teams have worked on over 25,000 investigations to date and continue to deliver some of the UK’s most complex and high-profile infrastructure projects.
